Senior Accountant

MECCA Management Company, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our collaborative accounts & finance team. This role is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical skills, and takes ownership of delivering accurate and timely financial information. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Specifically, you’ll:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, Inventory accounting, Revenue Recognition as well as maintaining the general ledger in compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end close process (including accruals, prepaids, depreciations, etc.) for multiple entities ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts to support proactive financial planning.
• Prepare and file Gross Receipts Tax forms accurately and on time to fulfill the organization's state tax obligations.
• Process payroll and support HR on accounting related functions and GL posting.
• Partner cross-functionally with leadership to provide financial insights that support operational decision-making.
• Retrieve and analyze data for ad hoc needs.
• Assist and collaborate with our CPA firm on year-end tax filings and preparation.
• Take on limited project coordination responsibilities to support cross-functional initiatives.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and implement strategies to optimize expenses.
• Evaluate accounting tools and systems to improve efficiency, automation, and reporting capabilities.
• Additional responsibilities may occur as they arise within the accounting department.

Required Skills

• A minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with GAAP and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online (required).
• Demonstrated proficiency in ERP/accounting software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of taxes, including state and GRT, is preferred.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to the needs of a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in the restaurant or food manufacturing industry is highly desired.
